As a psychotherapist and in my personal life, I am often confronted with a very disheartening picture: Many relationships that begin with the greatest of hopes fall into mediocrity. The loftiness of love withers; it becomes ordinary. Too often the wonderful visions of an intimate life become clouded by the inevitable resignation to joyless relationships.
I have encountered much heartbreak and too many unrealized dreams. I've been witness to the dulled conversations and the acceptance of love-less and passion-less lives. And I am saddened by what I see, for I know there is a loving potential in our soul that remains hidden just beneath the surface. The solutions await us, if we only know where to look for them.
My quest has been to create a new way of relating that enables people to nourish and successfully love one another. I believe the the answer to our longing for a more complete happiness lies in our ability to awaken our consciousness, permitting us to rewrite the script of our lives.
I am inspired by those who have transformed their lives in this manner, as they have embarked upon the path of insight, opening to the unfolding of joy. When We devote ourselves to intimacy and passion, our lives thrive. The ability to move beyond our fears and obstacles frees us to enjoy the riches of intimate relationships. We all deserve the treasure of loving intimacy. This book is devoted to that purpose. .
